iCarly Star Miranda Cosgrove's Birthday Party

Miranda Cosgrove, star of the popular Nickelodeon television show iCarly, celebrated her 16th birthday on May 14th. The cast and crew, including Jennette McCurdy, Jerry Trainer and Nathan Kress, surprised Miranda on the set of their hit show with a birthday cake to celebrate her Sweet 16. Miranda received lots of gifts including Guitar Hero World Tour for Nintendo Wii and a brand-new watch. She also had lunch with her parents and a friend at the Big Sugar Bakeshop in L.A. afterwards.

Miranda's tweeted late that night, saying, “Great day!!! I got to hang out with the cast and crew of iCarly! One of my bffs came to the set today too. All my favorite people.”

On May 16th, Miranda's official birthday bash was held in her honor at Siren Studios. The guest list included Dylan and Cole Sprouse, Josh Peck, Keke Palmer, Victoria Justice, Debby Ryan, Simon Curtis, Nathan Kress, and Jeanette McCurdy. The entertainment featured a live performance of “Love Song” by Sara Bareilles. Sara also sang "Happy Birthday" to Miranda. Among her gifts there was a customized acoustic Gibson guitar which was a gift from Nickelodeon. The birthday party guests hit the dance floor line-dancing and doing the "Cha Cha Slide".

All in all a pretty low key celebration compared to some other Hollywood bashes. I kind of like Miranda's down to earth persona and I really hope she stays this way. It is quite refreshing.

“I’m getting excited about maybe going to another state for college... I want to go to NYU and branch out, be somewhere else for a while. My parents want me to go to USC!”

Miranda's birthday bash at Siren Studios featured a gorgeous Cupcake Tower from Crumbs Bake Shop in Los Angeles. Crumbs Bake Shop is also a favorite stop for Suri Cruise who is a big fan of their cupcakes.

Miranda's birthday cupcake tower was five tiers. The bottom three tiers displayed Crumbs medium sized cupcakes and the top two tiers displayed the mini sized cupcakes. The larger cupcakes were a delicious assortment of lavender decorated cupcakes with pink sprinkles, pink decorated cupcakes with lavender sprinkles, raspberry swirl, candy cupcakes and chocolate cupcakes. The mini cupcakes were a yummy looking arrangement of many other unique flavors.

Crumbs Bake Shop opened its doors in March 2003 in Manhattan by Mia & Jason Bauer. Their specialty is their Crumbs Signature sized cupcakes. These cupcakes are available in more than 50 varieties including a new cupcake of the week every Monday. There are currently 22 Crumbs Bake Shops in California, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey and and there are more opening soon. Crumbs Bake Shops usually celebrates each new location's grand opening by giving away 1,000 cupcakes.

Miranda's birthday cake on the set of iCarly was a sheet cake covered in pink icing and decorated with purple trim and yellow rosettes. In addition to birthday candles, there were four sparklers lit on the cake.

The center of the birthday featured an edible cake image of Miranda with the writing, "Happy Sweet 16, Miranda."
