Zhu Zhu Pets Birthday Party Theme

Move over Webkinz, here come the Zhu Zhu pets! These cute little hamsters are most definitely going to be the hottest toy this Holiday season. This means that lots of children will be receiving Zhu Zhu pets under the Christmas tree this year. If your child receives this toy, they may request a Zhu Zhu Pets party theme for their next birthday celebration. This would certainly be a fun and unique party theme!

There are personalized birthday invitations available that are adorable. They are ticket style invites which you can personalize with your child's name and party details.

You could make your own Zhu Zhu Pets birthday invitations by printing Zhu Zhu Pet images from the Internet onto cardstock paper or photo paper. You could also print out the images and then glue them onto coordinating colored paper. Then, simply add all of your child's birthday party details.

Another birthday invitation idea would be this adorable Hamster Invitation pictured here from Ebay seller LaRusc Studio. It features 8 invitations and white envelopes. These invitations are printed on high quality archival matte paper and are approximately 5.25" X 4.25".

You can also find adorable Hamster notecard invitations with matching postage stamps on Zazzle. One of the designs includes "I Love Hamsters" wording. The notecard invitation is printed on ultra heavyweight paper with a glossy front and would be perfect for your Zhu Zhu Pets or hamster theme party.

There is also "I Love Hamsters" stationery available. This stationery would be great for printing out your Zhu Zhu Pets invitations.

Since there isn't any Zhu Zhu Pets or Hamster design partyware, you could have your child choose their favorite color combination for the party decor. Then, you could accent the party table and room with Zhu Zhu Pets and Hamster decorations to pull the party theme together. You could also use a polka dot design for your party supplies and decorations to coordinate with the custom party favors I have listed below.

For a fun party centerpiece, you could use a small hamster cage and accessories and place that in the center of the table. Then, put the Zhu Zhu Pets in the cage. If the kids will be playing with the Zhu Zhu Pets during the birthday party, you could simply put plastic hamsters in the cage instead.

Then, print out Zhu Zhu Pet images from the Internet and print them on 8 1/2" X 11" paper. Another option would be to purchase a hamster calendar and tear out the photos for your decorations. You can place these printouts or photos around the party room. You could also make a Zhu Zhu Pets birthday banner by using a piece of string or yarn. Punch two holes in the top of each printout and thread them along the string or yarn. Then, hang them around the room. I created a similar birthday banner for my daughter's Jonas Brothers party and it came out great.

A great birthday cake idea would be to bake a basic sheet cake or round cake. Then, decorate it with icing to coordinate with your birthday party theme. Once the cake is decorated, you can top it with hamster toys, wheel, funnels, exercise balls, etc. Be sure to purchase new items and wash in warm soapy water before placing on the top of the cake.

Once the cake toppers are set, you can add on an actual Zhu Zhu Pet or a hamster figure. Either would work nicely. Then, you will have an awesome Zhu Zhu birthday cake.

If you are baking birthday cupcakes, you can make easily make your own cupcake picks. Simply print out Zhu Zhu Pets images from the Internet onto cardstock paper. Print on both sides or place two images back to back. Then, attach each paper image to a toothpick and insert into the finished cupcakes. I did similar cupcake picks for my son's Little Bear party and then came out really nice. This is a great option if there aren't any licensed cake supplies available.

You could hand each party guest a piece of colorful paper, crayons and a set of stickers. They could create their very own Hamster Town!

Bottle cap necklaces are the latest trend. Now you can incorporte these fun necklaces into your Zhu Zhu Pets birthday party.

Bottle cap necklaces can be used as party favors or as a party craft. You can create your own circle images for your necklaces or if you want to save a bit of time, you can purchase precut 1" Zhu Zhu Pets images.

If you decide to use these necklaces as a party craft, I would suggest purchasing epoxy seals. Epoxy seals require no drying time, so the bottle cap necklaces will be ready when the party guests leave.

I found this adorable hamster party craft on the DLTK website. It would be a perfect activity for your Zhu Zhu Pets birthday party. Here are the materials needed to complete the project:

• a toilet paper roll
• a printer
• glue
• scissors
• something to color with a piece of paper

This hamster project also comes with a printable template in either color or black & white. Also, check out the three dimensional toilet paper hamster craft. This would make a great party activity as well.

There is also a simple Hamster Paper Craft which would make a great party craft for preschool or kindergarten aged kids. You simply print out the hamster template in either color or black & white and then glue to pieces together to create your hamster.

Hamster Toss
Purchase a few inexpensive plush hamster toys and either a real hamster cage or make a cage out of a cardboard box. If you use the cardboard box, you could draw grid lines to make it look like a cage and tape on Zhu Zhu Pets images. Each party guest can try tossing the hamsters into the cage.

Pin the Zhu Zhu Pet to the Exercise Wheel
Get a large poster board and draw a hamster exercise wheel on it. You don't need to be a great artist to pull this off. Then mark a spot on the wheel where the kids need to place their hamster. Print out Zhu Zhu Pets images from the Internet for each of the party guests. Each child will have to Pin their Zhu Zhu Pet to the wheel. The person closest wins.

Hamster Food Mix Musical Shakers
You can use any container that can be sealed with a lid. You can have the kids decorate their containers with Zhu Zhu Pets images. Then place Hamster Food Mix into each container to make a musical Hamster shaker.

Hot Potato (Zhu Zhu Pet Style)
This game is simply the classic Hot Potato game instead you pass around a Zhu Zhu Pet instead.
